Change of seasons

Ahhhh it's so nice to have the weather warming up again! I felt as though this winter was a very long cold one this year.
I have loved having this blanket on our bed but it's time to pack her away for a few months now!
I'll be washing the boys sheets today too and will be replacing their flannel sheets with cotton ones.

Have you changed to summer bed linen yet??

Take Care

  1. I changed from flannelette to cotton a couple a weeks ago after a bout of beautiful sunny weather and mild nights and the following week it turned to winter weather again! Can't win!

    1. Typical isn't it. I was tempted to then too but chose to keep them on for a couple more weeks

    1. My MIL made it many years ago, long before I met Brian. I love it. She's not making any more though. She find knitting too hard on her shoulders and this pattern was a lot of work.
I'm lucky to also own a blue and white version in a single bed and also cot size that she made when I was pregnant. The last two in this pattern.
If you are interested in the pattern I'm pretty sure I have a cope of it here. Just email me at beccisdomesticbliss(at)yahoo(dot)com(dot)au

  3. Becci I use cotton sheets all year round. One of the advantages of having hot flushes...no more cold feet :o)

    1. I don't use flannel on our bed either. But the 4yo and 3yo do. Not quite up to hot flushes yet but I'm sure it won't be too many years off :)

  4. We keep a summer bed all year round and the ceiling fan on every night and we live in the Yarra Valley in Melbourne! My husband is a MAJOR hot body and heat radiates off him! Mind you, when he is working night shift I wear those flannel pajamas for sure!

    1. We have cotton sheets all year round, but just have the blanket on top. I cant handle flannel sheets at all, but the kids use them

  5. What a beautiful blanket. It looks so nice and warm. Here in the states we are switching from our cotton to flannel and putting extra blankets on the beds, gathering our hand quilting to drape in our laps and preparing for the eventual cold. Brrr I think of myself as a fair weather girl :)

  6. We have cotton sheets all year too, but for my 2 youngest children, instead of flannel sheets, I put a polar fleece blanket on their bed, so they keep the same sheets all year too. The polar fleece blankets, which go on top of the bottom sheet and they sleep on it, makes the bed super toasty warm! They love it! Cheaper than flannel sheets as well.

    1. Sounds like it might be a little warmer where you are.
In the middle of winter my boys have flannel sheets, 2 woollen blankets, quilt/doona, plus a knitted/crocheted blanket. They also were either flannel or fleecy jammies at night.
