Sun ~ Lamb chops and veg (Daddy's request)
Mon ~ Corned Beef (will cook double so we can take sandwiches with us on tuesday)

Thurs ~ Chicken Kievs and Veg
Fri ~ Hamburgers ala Nannas Patties
Sat ~ Hocks and veg soup
Sun ~ Roast Pork
Mon ~ Apricot Chicken

Let's Get Organised Wk33 ~ Deep Clean

Our last week in the Dining Room! Wonder where will be next month???

Thought I'd share a couple of photos of our dining room for you.

I love this hutch. To the right of the hutch is our recycling to take to the kindy. Next to that is our side door that we use as our main entrance. It leads directly out to the carport. My new garden area is outside this door too.

Looking towards the kitchen. The servery can be closed if needed but I love to stand here and chat to visitors while I make our cuppas.

Your missions for this week:
~ Finish off any previous missions for the Dining Room
~ Take down curtains and wash
~ Decobweb
~ Dust all surfaces, window sills and skirtings
~ Wash windows
~ Wash any marks off walls, doors and light switches
~ Give floors a thorough vacuum, sweep or mop, whatever is appropriate

Would love to see your dining rooms! Please link up below or share on the Becci's Domestic Bliss Facebook Wall.

Nannas BBQ Patties

Nanna's BBQ Patties were always featured at our family BBQ's. They are cheap and easy and make heaps!

500g beef mince
1C milk
1 pkt French Onion or Chicken Noodle Soup Mix
2 eggs
1 onion, grated (I finely chop)
1 carrot, grated
1C SR Flour
1C water

Combine all ingredients together with your hands. Mix will be very sloppy. Don't worry it will thicken.
Refrigerate overnight. Or at the very least make this early in the morning if cooking for dinner that night.
Spoon ladelfuls into a hot BBQ plate in desired size. Cook a few minutes, until nicely brown and the mix has firmed up, flip and cook on the other side until brown.

This mix made 12 patties the size in the picture above.

Gardening for a beginner!

Yep that's me. I've always loved gardens, loved the idea of gardening, but I am so not a gardener. I do not have a green thumb at all. Have been rather successful with herbs in the past but anything else didn't have a chance!
Luckily Brians on hand for some advice, he's the green thumb in this house

But I have decided that I really want to grow some things of our own. Would love to have a massive vegie patch but our water bill is huge enough as it is. Yeah we have rain water but rather keep that for drinking.

Our before shots. Well not quite before, had started getting things organised then remembered to take a photo!

Brian transplanted the pelargonium? from the corner into the backyard so that he had room to move the succulents around and give me room for the sunflowers.

The succulents.

So I have started with some good standard basics. Tomatoes. I don't eat them at all, but the rest of the fam does. I thought two plants to start with would be good, one normal tomato and one cherry. Brian picked which ones he wanted and thought were good (he is the green thumb). The cherry tomato actually had two plants in it so that was a bit of a bargain. We plan to use the trellis to grow the plants up on.

I also wanted to start up my herbs again. I forgot I had these cute pots in the shed! We have Parsley, Thyme, Oregano and Basil. We already have a massive rosemary bush in the backyard and I'll add some others as time goes on.

The boys asked quite nicely (a pleasant change) if they could plant some flower seeds. So I chose a dwarf sunflower variety. We have planted 4 seeds, fingers crossed they come up. They are planted in the section behind the herbs there.

While the succulents were being moved I took the opportunity to plant a couple in an old fish bowl for indoors. Hope they go well. Not done that before.

And our after shots including my cheeky monkeys:

The freesias are looking a little flat after their water but they'll pick up soon.

Stay tuned for updates!

Let's Get Organised Wk32 ~ Dining Table

How are we going in the dining room so far??

This weeks missions:
~ Deep clean you dining table
~ if it's wood polish it
~ Remove any excess clutter that you have in your Dining room and find homes for it

We wipe our table and chair tops down after each meal. With two preschoolers who make a bit of a mess we need to. That being said the unused chairs do get rather dusty and occasionally need a good going over and a polish.

I'd love to see how you are organising your dining rooms. Link up below or post your pics on the BDB Facebook Wall.

Let's Get Organised Wk31 ~ Sideboard Pt2

How are we all going in the dining room????

This week we are going to tackle the hidden mess.

This weeks Missions:
~ Declutter the hidden clutter in your sideboard/hutch/dresser cupboard
~ Find new homes for things
~ Create better storage solutions for what is in there

The bottom of our hutch is currently full of miscellaneous bits n pieces. I store our green shopping bags in one side as it's right next to the door that we exit from mostly. There are also bags of crafty stuff and some clean moccona jars in there too. All needs sorting through and decluttering.

I'd love to see how you are organising your dining rooms. Link up below or post your pics on the BDB Facebook Wall.

Let's Get Organised Wk 30 ~ Sideboard

In our dining room we have a lovely wooden hutch. Some people have sideboards, or a corner decorative table or something else that always tends to be a dumping ground for odds and ends.

This weeks missions:
~ Declutter your hutch/sideboard/table
~ Find a solution for frequently dumped items

Our hutch tends to stay fairly clear most of the time. Occasionally I'll pop something there to be returned to someone as it's right near our main entrance and I'll see it as I head to the car or as people come over.
The one thing that often gets dumped there is my LTC orders. I need to find a solution to those this week.

I would love to see your before and after pics. Just upload your blog post below or post your pics to the BDB Facebook Wall.
